Tour news

Hatton Crumbles

It was back to the daily grind for Europe’s Ryder Cup heroes, with Tyrrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood both in action at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Hatton led in the final round by four strokes heading into the back nine, but a remarkable collapse involving four bogies saw him card a level par 72, allowing Denmark’s Lucas Bjerregarrd to steal victory at St Andrews. Fleetwood shared second with Hatton as a final day 69 left him on 14 under, one stroke behind Bjerregarrd. This week the tour heads to Walton Heath with Justin Rose playing host at the British Masters.

Rule Changes

As 2019 comes ever closer, so too do the new Rules of Golf which are to be implemented on 1st January 2019. The changes being made are intended to modernise the game, one of which is the dropping procedure. Drops will no longer have to be made from shoulder height – instead, golfers will be able to drop from knee height when taking relief to simplify the dropping process and speed up play.

For players looking to get the most from their practice, using the simulator on driving range mode gives you the ultimate feedback. Carry and total distance, shot dispersion, spin rates, club path and face data are all supplied.

Rounds of Golf:

Our simulator system has 5 golf courses from around the world. Experience these courses from tee to green, with all the elements replicated for you. The price includes room rental for up to 4 players.

If you’re celebrating a birthday or special occasion and would like to incorporate a social round with food and drink, please let us know in advance and we can arrange it for you

We are open 7 days a week and take bookings for groups of up to 4 Players.

Yardage Gapping:

Utilise your practice time wisely discovering precisely how far you hit each club thus improving your distance control on the course. We can then assess your set to make sure you have the right clubs in the bag.

Comprehensive Performance Club Fitting

- Driver fitting £25

- Wedge Fitting £25

Using our launch monitor software we can pin point any areas of weakness through distance measurement and shot dispersion.

As part of the fitting process we will fit you using the static and dynamic fitting process, altering any loft and lies necessary ultimately ending with the correct flex weight length loft and lie.

Note. All fitting costs will be absorbed when purchasing the clubs through the Pro Shop.

Ball Fitting

- 30mins £20

Ever wondered if you are playing with the right ball? Does a premium price ball actually give you the optimum results?

A simple ball fitting session with your PGA Professional will give you all the information you need. Is distance your priority or is spin around the greens. Perhaps a mixture of both. It’s time to find the best performing ball for your game!

The good old days

Sometimes it's nice to reminisce about the good times. When it comes to golf, the days of persimmon woods, small clubheads and hitting balls which were hard as a rock are long gone - but it can help to take a trip down memory lane to remind us of just how much technology has developed, particularly in the case of drivers.

Time tunnel

Take PING for example; you might have been lucky enough to own its revolutionary G5 driver way back in 2006. The G5 was made from titanium, featured internal weighting distribution and who can forget the iconic half-moon alignment aid? It's definitely a collector's item, and is sure to be remembered with fondness.

Fast-forward to the present day, and PING has released its most technologically advanced driver to date in the form of G400. The streamlined shape results in 15% extra clubhead speed and ball velocity - meaning you'll have added distance along with more stability. Not only that, but PING has developed four different G400 models so you're guaranteed to find a driver that's suited to your game.

So, whilst it is nice to think about the drivers of yesteryear, it's probably time to get up to speed with the latest models such as the G400. Who knows? Maybe in another 10 years time, you'll be looking back on the G400 with as much fondness as the G5!

How times have changed

Remember when you used to get ready for a round of golf during winter - you'd put on your vest, followed by a turtleneck, followed by a polo, then a jumper, before finally putting on your jacket. Not only was it a complete pain in terms of trying to stay warm without overheating, but it also made swinging the club near impossible - not a great combination if you wanted to enjoy your 18 holes.
